Exhaust Manifold bracket.

Postby TheHoff » Tue Jul 15, 2014 2:27 am

Hi All,
I have mounted a new expansion chamber to my TS 250 and the old bracket that mounted the exhaust to the engine manifold no longer fit correctly,In order to pass the MOT I fabricated a new one.
My question is that considering the engine moves do you really need the bracket at the front for the extra support? Or is the bracket from the frame to the rear of the exhaust sufficient?

Cheers

The bracket's needed to stop the front pipe fracturing. Without it, there's a small bending force when the engine's running between the neck of the exhaust pipe and the end of the silencer that'll eventually cause the pipe to fail.
