TS - 150 Chain Rubbers

Postby bullgoose » Fri Mar 07, 2014 3:40 am

Hi folks.
The new chain rubbers I bought the other day have little tabs at the end (One on top and one on the side) see photo.
I failed to notice how they were fitted when they were taken off and i presume they are a fitting aid. Can anyone tell me which way they fit, ie tabs to the top as the photo.
Cheers
Bullgoose.
PS - The system won`t let me upload the photo as the board attachment quota has been reached.???

The tabs on the gaiters should be at the engine-case end, facing up and outward...although I doubt it makes a huge amount of difference. As you say, they are probably installation aids so you can get a screwdriver under them and lever them into place.

My TS needs new gaiters too - how did you get the chain through? Recommended technique usually involves fishing with a bent coathanger and a lot of patience...

Thanks Agronski.
That`s the way i thought they would fit, but i just thought i would ask before fitting to the bike because as you say they are a right fiddle to pull through the chain.
I am going to use a long piece of welding wire after soaking the chain in linklife grease.
Cheers
