points ignition ? Part 2

Hi all,
Well changed points & condenser, fitted a new carb and 2nd hand inlet manifold that was split - it will start but wont rev out, its like its on choke and the carb & manifold are trying to ice up. So I have been told to try Silkolene PRO FST as this should stop the icing effect. I have had a suggestion that the crank case oil seal might be perished with being stood a while - well its a 1989 with 1850 miles on the clock! Yes 1850 mls. So any suggestions from anyone would be much appreciated.
