Did you get a proper oil in it

if it has an auto oilier is it adjusted proper

If hand mixing did you get to much oil in the last mix

Too much oil makes it run lean

The 2 smokers I had have a variable speed pump and the stroke also varied

The cable that controls the stroke may be out of place,, or pulled or stretched in a wrong path.
making the pump dispense to much OIL
Dave

if you run a 2 smoker try to keep it smoking as little as you can...lots of smoke may get an outright ban on them..
making a lot of people loose there cheap ride they can't afford to replace

The machine has a pump. It seems properly adjusted with the two lines lined up at a quick idle. It has stood for two months i will have a look at the cable tomorow.

if it it was not used for 2 months it may be suffering from the suzuki GT380/550 problem
there oil tanks would drain through the system into the bottom of the crankcase
causing them to smoke badly if you were lucky

if you were having a bad day they would start and rip the piston on one of the cylinders right off the end of the
ROD as the oil in the bottom did not comperss
see if your motor includes a way to drain the engine crankcase not the one for the transmission

Quality of oil will make a big difference to the bike smoking. I always reccomend a branded semisynthetic, the stuff you can get in supermarkets is ok in the short term, but i would definatly steer clear of the cheap green oil, its only realy suitable for chain saws.
Another thought, if the oil seal on the clutch side has gone this will allow gearbox oil into the crankcase. Check your gearbox oil level, also see if it smells of petrol, as this is a sign that the seal has gone.

The cable seems fine, but the gear oil was low , with only around 300ml left in. It was clean and viscous, but the level checking hole screw smelled of petrol. Very runny oil comes out of the exhaust after running it.

sounds like you have lost a crankshaft seal
if you can find gas with no ethonal or seals that are ethonal resistant may be a good idea

Definately the crank seals, they can be replaced with the motor in situ.

You will need a puller for each side - worth having anyway, but an expense the first time out.

Not a tough job
