Starting my TS250

Postby Coltfish » Sun Dec 09, 2012 9:55 am

Its been a long time since having a fully functioning MZ and am having problems when starting my 82 TS250 when hot. It starts fine when cold, so thats sorted. Any ideas for starting tecniques would most certainly help.

if it been laid up in the shed for a while ... check the condenser and plug and try a different coil if you have an extra
also if the coil circuit has a fuse check it ....i have been having a lot of problems with poor quality
fuses lately
and the over all health of the wires to the coil and coil to spark plug
if the bike has a handle bar mounted kill switch check if its clean and tidy
nothing like a load of green slim in the wires to have you wearing out your shoes
also several times i have had poor contact at the battery posts after things warm up
both plus and minus and the earth (ground) wire from the coil and engine back to the battery
