skorpion sport air box replace

hello guys,i wondering if i can replace the stock air box on my bike for a filter?, not looking for carbs just a filter

i use the old filter frame and replace the paper filter with UNI foam
cut the old paper out but not the screen

replacing the whole box is a lot of work
as the battery sets in the back side of it...it is the shelf the battery bottom sets on
