TS250 fork seal holder removal

Postby Locksim » Sun Feb 06, 2011 11:23 am

I'm truly stuck! My fork seal holderas refuse to undo and seem absolutely solid - C spanner bent when used with an extension, even pipe wrench is just biting into the holder material. Is there a special technique/something I'm not getting?
Cheers folks - it's a tad frustrating!!

agree with dave, normaly held in place by a circlip at the top of seal, once removed pry seal out or if stripping completly, removing the lower damper tube bolt and pull apart.

those lips on the end look to me like slots to hold the unit in the lathe or turning machine when it was made
to keep it from slipping .....they just fake people out as a C spanner fitting place
and that seal in the picture has a metal outer shell so is probably a very tight fit
see dealers section of site for the seals

There will be a nut in the base of stanchion which holds it all together, you will need to undo this and the chrome leg with come out along with all the other gubbins then you pry out the seal and replace.
All the best
