Enclosed rear sprocket drive

Postby nikitino » Sat Oct 31, 2009 8:28 pm

I recently took the chain and rear sprocket off my Country 500 and the rubber piece that that drives the rear wheel fell out of the assembly. I think this thing was originally glued in as i remember reading that to take it out, you can heat it up. My question is when i am reassembling the enclosed chain/rear sprocket and mating it to the rear wheel, do i need to glue this rubber drive piece back onto the sprocket or can i just set it in its place and remount the chain assembly? If you have to glue it, what kind of glue should i use? I'm talking about the rubber throwing star looking thing that mates to the rear wheel hub and drives the wheel.....

Hi,
The cush drive rubber (as it is called) does not have to be glued in place. If it is too loose you should replace it. It is normally a snug fit in the sprocket carrier.
If the rubber is sound and not cracked you should get some more use out of it.
For suppliers do a forum search.
