According to european law, all dealers have to tell the customer the shipping costs before he pushes the "order button".
As the computer does not know how heavy the ordered part is, we have to tell the customer an estimated shipping price.
Surely most of my collegues will try to send parts as cheap as possible.
As the sprocket is below 500 g , the cheapest way is sending it in a letter incl. tracking link.
So the costs that the program tells you is irrelevant.
As all customers outside of germany have to pay in advance, there is no risk.
After an order the customer gets an email with account data etc.
If the costs are to high, the customer simply does not pay the bill and that is the end of the order
