Found a factory service video for 30N3 carburettor !

Postby keleto » Sat Aug 06, 2016 1:59 pm

I found this video in german https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hvi-T_D22Ao showing ALL the service procedures for the 30N3 carburettor. Can anyone supply a good translation for the correct idle-setting procedure shown between time 11 mins 10 seconds and 13 mins 20 seconds ?

As near as I can work out (with my almost non existent knowledge of German) the approved procedure is as follows

Set mixture screw to 2.5 turns out
Use air-screw to achieve 1500 RPM tickover
Screw in pilot jet slowly to get minimum C02 output (presumably max revs ?)
Open pilot screw by 1/4 turn
Screw in air screw to reduce tickover to 1200 RPM.

I could not see any indication of the reference air screw setting to start with. The Haynes manual says 4 turns, but we all know that source is unreliable. If anyone can glean better information from this video that would be great.......
