Clutch problems

Postby Andy260 » Sat Dec 15, 2012 4:44 pm

Hi basically I have changed the friction plates in an mz etz 125 1987 model
Now the clutch won't disengage but if I take one of the plates out leaving 5 it works fine should I leave one out
Or is there another problem I am missing

you know the clutch baskets lid ,the part that accepts the clutch springs and is actuated by the clutch lever rod??..
have you lined the arrows up,,youll know when its right because it drops in that litle bit further(5mm),
although it look isometrical ,there is a wrong and right way it slots in , The wrong way will lock the clutch.
see item number 12 in photo

Have you released the tension in the clutch mechanism worm drive?

With all of the plates fitted, undo the locknut under the rubber plug in the alternator side engine cover. Then slacken the grub screw to give you the correct amount of free play at the clutch lever, and retighten the locknut.
