Newbie with a kickstart problem :(

Postby Mic » Tue Oct 02, 2012 9:57 am

Hi! I bought a 125 etz a few weeks ago, great little bike! After a few trips out the bike started cuttin out, fuel blockage. The filter by the tap was a horrible colour and it was often hard to start. I replaced the tap with a new one and flushed the tank out.

But now the bike is near impossible to start. When it does run its fine. The kickstart feels like there is nothing to it. I've checked the spark but that seems ok and it's fresh fuel.

Any suggestions where to start?

Thanks
Mic

did you clean out the carb ? sounds like it may have a load of crud...
and use gas with no ethanol ...

my 2002 rt 125 runs better on fuel with no ethanol
my low power 120 volt ac generator refuses to run on the junk
it has a 2 cycle motor

Do you mean that when you kick it the kicker feels really sloppy, no compression?

yes no compression. ive used the decent Shell V power fuel for extra spark after clearing the tank out. When i got it started i took it our for nearly 2 hours and it ran fine, just wouldnt start up the next morning. I can try kick it over for up to 20 minutes and it definanlty doesnt feel like its doing anything.

if it set for a long time the rings may be bad
or the points may have slipped
some 2 strokes will run with very low compression
may have burnt a hole in the piston

My first guess with the bike running once it is started would be stuck rings.
