Mz Baghira 660 Valve adjustments?

Postby Ineedamz » Mon May 09, 2011 12:08 pm

My baggy had issues starting last year and drained the battery numerous times getting it running. I've cleaned the carbs changed the fuel and spark plug. Its still taking longer for the bike to start up but it does start eventually and still seems like a great engine. Its got about 10k kilo. I was going with the fact that I need to do a valve adjustment. Does anyone know where I can find these specs? Its a 2004 Baghira super moto.

P.S. I love my baggy!!!

i find that draining the fuel by leting it tickover with the fuel tap off after a run makes a big difference and the bike starts a lot easier a few days later, try this first as mine even when new(2008) never liked starting that easy but draining the carb after a run realy helps.

There's a manual here that you can download on .pdf :

http://pcfarina.eng.unipr.it/Public/Tenere-XTZ660/

Cold measurements should be

Intake 0.10 - 0.15

Exhaust 0.15 - 0.20

Let us know if it was easy, mine need checking soon!

A guy has a post on you tube where he is doing a valve adjustment on a baghira. Its not in english but you can get a general idea of what steps need to be taken.

Yea it was easy the bike ran so smooth for 3 weeks and now , not sure what happened but it backfired at like half throttle then died like it had no gas , Now I have drenched plugs and gas in my oil. Think I blew something up don't know why everything was running so smooth , fresh oil change and tune up.. ugghhhhh .. If I blew up my top end what kits would people recommend for an upgrade and also anyone know a good carb that will fit on the baggy besides the stock one?
