rectifier

Postby hksigman » Tue Jan 25, 2005 7:19 pm

so i pick my bike up last week ride about 40 miles and it dies. Luckily it was around the corner from the local Ducati dealer. I take it there and they inform me the rectifier is "dead"( not charging the battery)

Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a replacement available that is made by Yamaha or do I need to get one from MZ?

Update : after removing the part, the first thing i see is a Yamaha symbol next to a part number. So now to see if the dealer i bought the bike from can get a replacement for me by Friday

can you post a picture of the dead one
so the wires from it can be seen
a lot of bikes can use one from a honda cx500
in a pinch need to see your old one so i can post
a wireing diagram
ar dave

ps my rt125 ran one from a cx500 for 2 weeks while they sent
me a new ori one .. the ori one went at 19 miles from a bad ori battery

The MZOG group on yahoo.com under the groups has a files section that has a nice drawing of the wiring. It also has a diagram of the rectifier wiring.
