2001 660 Traveller 14K miles.
First thanks to the members of this board for suggestions on fixing the stripped nuts in my Traveller tank. It is perfect now.
So I hooked up the repaired tank (fuel line from petcock to carb and vent line from tank to "T" line at canister). Then I put in maybe 2 gallons of fuel. When I turn the ignition "on" I get a steady stream of fuel coming out of the vent line which dumps from the cut off valve to the area just in front of the rear tire. The canister fills with fuel as does the bottom inch of the airbox! Also fuel is dripping from the intake boot to the carb! Holy crap there is fuel everywhere... no time to even think about starting the motor.
I can only guess that something is up with the cut off valve... I mean why is it pumping fuel out when I turn on the ignition? I have the vacuum hose diagram and everything seems to be hooked up correctly.
I am used to bikes with a vacuum petcock and this fuel everywhere is freaking me out.
Anyone familiar with the situation?
Thanks.
