Sharp looking bike. Where can I get a front brake disc like that? I have the Brembo caliper too, it's a big improvement over the Grimeca...

@DAVID: I hope the sentence was right....or not??? ...but I mean, you´ve understand what I said :P

The brake....yep....it´s an Brembo P4 4 caliper brake, a Nissin 5/8 pump (from a Suzi TL 1000 or Yamaha R1 from ´02 etc.), custom made caliper adapter based on the SPIEGLER adapter, different brake line and a BRAKING 320mm disk. I´ve changed the pads to something better, SBS pads, art. number 566RS. They do their job very well.

Spiegler don´t built the adapter anymore, so they send me the plans of it and a other firm made it for me.

You must set the front wheel for ca. 2mm to the right because the disk slides at the fork if you don´t do that.

If it´s finished and the TÜV said OKAY, I post some more pics of the brake ;)

And yes, I´m about 1,90m tall....quite tall, right? :-D

@cat: I´m living in Cuxhaven. It´s next to Bremerhaven oder Hamburg and yes, the house was a farm.

I purchased my Mastiff in Cuxhaven from a Bike shop, they had a black Baghira when I was there, and now they don't. Maybe you purchased the Baghira from the same bike shop on the Cuxhavener Str. 288.

Maybe I borrow it from you some day.

What about the...rotor holder [?] that mounts the disc to the hub - did that come with the Braking disc? (It must be for some specific bike?)

Don't say that, 272 Management System Certificates has been issued by TÜV CERT to South Africa.

what?! you are joking!

They do all these 'PC' things here like a "1st world" country, but the basic law and order is not there.

The TUV stuff, they will never get it to work here. But I'm sure the vehicle manufacturers and importers would like it. .... I am not happy, I just had to spend $$$$ on replacing clutch in my stupid car  ...and I need to buy bike stuff like jacket and boots, etc.

 I think this means that the components made in SA that are used in Mercedes, Ford, BMW, VW, etc., can be used in Europe ...that sort of thing?

...It does mean that eventually they will make the laws to control you making modifications to your vehicles. Already we must pay $$ every 4-5 years to "renew" our drivers licence.

That is probably the case.

Cat

As a early R1 disc fits the MZ wheel OK, maybe its a disc for an eary R1. I have been looking at fitting a 4 pot caliper to my bike for some time now, but cant find one to clear the wheel spokes yet. Anyone here done this mod? I have noticed the disc could be spaced out maybe 5mm, maybe this is what others have done.
Any ideas welcome.

The disk is from a Yamaha XT 600X....I guess. Just ask for a disk with a "Lochabstand" from 150mm and a "Innendurchmesser" of 132mm.

You don´t need a distance piece for the disk. The outer ring is a little bit "ausgerückt" and is next to the wheel, not in it like the original one.

I´ll go on with the discribtion in one hour.....now I´m eating :P

description.
ok, ja, you need your food. :D

so that outer ring / mounting / centre is also from Braking?
and the hole spacing and innendurchmesser / ID is for the disc.
ausgerückt, ja, good, the original is in the wheel.

thanks.
i can understand that but better i keep to English, i'm so mixed up with afrikaans, nederlands, deutsch. all respect to the european youth now, they all speak english and the english speak nothing else.
